Members & Visiting Guests,

Please be advise, SB-778 was signed into effect 3/23/12. In as much as this took place and is now effective, we must move into a direction which continues to benefit Higgins Lake, our membership, the citizens and municipalities around it.

Our efforts to have the Governor Vito SB-778 fell short although they were not wasted by any means. We are moving into a NEW direction in an effort to benefit our members and enhance our efforts to protect meaningful access to Higgins Lake.

In the very near future, the HLCA will be contacting members and potential members to discuss our direction for the future. We will update our web site to reflect our efforts and present new information to you as it becomes known. Our objective is to move forward with a plan to benefit access matters here at Higgins Lake.

YOU can make a difference and can help us obtain our goals by continually checking the web site and learning as much about our mission in the future as possible.
We're certain we'll need additional grass-roots efforts in the future and will call upon your help to assist us as needed.

In addition, the HLCA will continue to work toward improvements that benefit us all here at Higgins Lake. We'll do our best to keep you informed and we ask that you reach out to potential members and ask them to join the HLCA. It's important to remember there is " strength in numbers" irrespective of the matters we address.

Finally.... I'd like to advise you all of the following information. The HLCA has been an active member in the " Adopt-a-highway" program for a number of years.
As you know, it's important to do our part in this regard and we're asking YOU to help us with our objective in this regard. We need people to help pick-up along
U.S.-27.
We meet at the Silver Dollar the morning of the pick up date at 8:30 am. and we're usually done by 10:00 am. A very worthy effort and good for our area.
Please considering helping us with this project. It's a great way to start the day, you'll be doing the state and local area a favor and.... it's simply a good thing to do!
The HLCA can be proud of our efforts to do our part in this regard.
Below are the schedule dates for pick up. The route we work begins at Military road and goes south bound just over a mile.

Adopt-a-highway pick up dates for 2012 are as follows:

State wide: April 14 thru 22nd.

July 14 thru 22nd.

Sept. 22 thru 30th.

Please try to attend for a pick up and meet us at the Silver Dollar at 8:30 am. on the above dates. "Do'n our part to keep this area beautiful".

Thank again,
Respectfully,
Ric Federau
HLCA (President)
